Visions Virtual Enterprise commenced trading in February
2006 and staff of the Virtual Enterprise (VE) undertake Certificate II and III
in Business as part of their training program at Central
Queensland Institute of TAFE - Rockhampton.
The VE has three divisions -
Division one staff have been recruited from a local employment agency who
attend on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday each week and Division two and three
staff have been recruited from the local ETRF school based program
(incorporating six schools) attending on Thursday and Friday.
Products sold are based on
stock retailed by the VE's business mentor, Kmart and its subsidiary outlets
incorporating Wesfarmers Group. Staff in
each division rotate weekly through 11 positions within the enterprise during
their 17 week program and also participate in two trade fairs during the
year.
The Sales & Marketing
department produce catalogues for promotions and sale to other VEs and as a
team create a concept for the trade fair.
Photographs from the recent trade fair are below.
The VE provides loyalty
programs to customers and manages a Kid's Club, Techno Teens Club and a very
successful VIP rewards point program.
Staff members of the VE monitor
continuous improvement practices within the VE and financial documentation has
been redesigned to accommodate the VIP loyalty program data and customer
reference numbers to assist with processing accounts.
Visions Virtual Enterprise is a
community minded business and has supported many local charities. Their latest function, a trivia night to
raise funds for Camp Quality, was attended by over 150 people and $1,750.00 was
raised for the charity. Staff of the VE
organised all facets of the event including initial planning, media releases,
prize sourcing and follow up correspondence to all concerned.
